Mediterranea Tile is committed to environmentally friendly practices just as it is committed to producing quality products. All Mediterranea ceramic and porcelain tile is made from 100 percent natural and abundant materials such as quartz, kaolin, clay, feldspar, silica, and natural coloring elements. No sealants, epoxies, or waxes are present on any of the company’s collections. Mediterranea also utilizes a closed-loop production process, recycling approximately 6 million gallons of water and 12,500 tons of raw materials annually, as well as reusing 100 percent of particulate matter accumulated through its dust collection system.
Mediterranea Tile Mountain Timber collection, made with 58 percent recycled material, gives a hardwood appearance with the resilience of rectified porcelain. Boardwalk, one of Mediterranea’s newest lines with its weathered hardwood plank look, is easy to clean with pH-neutral products, further reducing environmental impact. Lightly-shaded tiles found in the Vatican Gallery collection have been known to have a low Solar Reflective Index, further reducing heat island effects within microclimates. Mediterranea Tile is an ideal choice in ceramic and porcelain tile for quality, low-maintenance, eco-friendly flooring.
