Even when looking at the same flooring- there are so many different prices to factor in.
You can shop strictly on price per square foot of the flooring you want, but what about the price of the underlayment??
The same applies to the price of the moldings and trim pieces.
Lastly....What is up with the variable rates in shipping??
As you can see, the person that has the lowest price may not always have "the lowest price" once shipping is considered or their extreme mark up on the accessories. There’s and old saying “you get what you pay for”. We’ll take the time to plan your floor out with you, give you advice on the right accessories and help with your design and installation questions. A company that cares is sometimes worth a few cents more per square foot.

So what is an Internet buyer to do?
First, get a quote on the whole order. Everyone seems to focus on the main flooring item, looking for the best deal around. Bad start. Put your complete order together then get the quotes with shipping included. Aren't sure exactly what you need?? Well, that is why at Qualityflooring4less we are here to say "how can we help you?". Instead of just placing your order without further information, I would rather talk to you about your flooring. Customers are #1 in any business, and customer service is #1 even on Ebay. I'm here to put my order out for tremendous customer service so don’t be afraid to take it.
The thing I think of most when it comes to price is this....you may on occasion pay .05 more per sq. ft. But the question is what did you get for that .05 more. When you receive realistic, honest advice about your floor and the person on the other end isn't trying to "upsell" you on underlayment you don't need, that .05 is worth ten times more. |
Here are a few general guidelines when shopping for your floor
Always, Always, Always….
Insist on name brands! When shopping there are many “to good to be true” prices on flooring. Did you ever notice that the manufacturer’s name isn’t mentioned? That’s because the so called “private label” is basically imports from who knows where with no standards of manufacturing or quality behind it. Based on feedback we’ve received from countless customers whose flooring didn’t live up to their expectations these products promise everything but deliver very little.
Never Ever Ever…
Buy without knowing who the manufacturer is and make sure that manufacturer has a web site providing warranty info, product data, etc. and most importantly make sure that manufacturer has US representation in all states. Any reputable manufacturer such as Shaw, Armstrong etc. has distributors and company representatives across the US. Don’t be tricked into buying cheap imported products claiming to be something there not.
Insist on…
Make sure your accessories are made by the manufacturers. Amazingly consumers are often mislead into purchasing underlayment and moldings that aren’t made by the same manufacturer as their floor. The manufacturers have the best quality control standards for everything they produce and put their name on. Generic moldings and so called off brand underlayments are nothing more than cheap imports that flooring stores sell you to increase their profits-at the expense of you the customer.
