Carlton Sonoma Hand-scraped hardwood flooring offers stunning distressed visuals in the form of engineered American walnut planks. While this collection may be a shabby-chic designer’s dream, the hand-scraped look is increasingly being applied to contemporary décor settings as well, so no one needs to feel left out of the distressed hardwood trend. Coated with an aluminum oxide UV finish, Sonoma Hand-scraped planks will last for many years and hold up to the elements with proper care and maintenance. Use this versatile, rustically styled floor for your next project, whether you are doing a basement remodel or live in extremely dry conditions thanks to its engineered construction.
Carlton Sonoma Hand-scraped planks are available in three colors and 6 ½” wide planks. Smoke is one of our favorite color options, as each plank blends together olive greens, subdued browns, and charcoal greys for a flowing grain pattern and remarkable visuals. Bronze is more of an intermediate brown that works well in décor styles that are at both ends of the design spectrum, whether traditional, modern, or contemporary. For a solid, dignified appearance, go with the chocolate browns of Toffee.
In contrast, Carlton Sonoma Smooth hardwood presents similar visuals as its hand-scraped counterpart, only in a smooth, even finish and a slightly different color selection. Backed by a 25-year residential warranty, Sonoma Smooth will hold up to all of life’s hectic moments and will not wear down prematurely so long as proper care and maintenance techniques are followed. Eight coats of an aluminum oxide UV finish protect planks from the elements, so you don’t have to freak out over minor scratches, dirt, or small spills ruining your floor. In addition to these attributes, American walnut scores higher on the Janka hardness scale than many other domestic woods, making this collection an excellent choice if durability is one of your main concerns.
This series comes in three colors and 6 ½” wide walnut hardwood planks. One of our favorites from this series is the Natural selection, as it leaves the walnut planks for the most part untouched in their unadulterated form, showcasing light browns ideal for reflecting natural sunlight throughout any living space. Smoke is a darker shade suitable for both traditional and contemporary homes.
